Cooking School
After tasting the local cuisine, were sure youll want to introduce the flavors of the Amalfi Coast to friends and family back home. Its time to roll up your sleeves, put on your apron, and join one of our entertaining, hands-on cooking courses! Hotel Conca Azzurras chef has created two types of lessons, each of which last for circa 2 hours. Lessons conclude with a lunch, and the chance to eat what you have prepared:
- Fresh pasta: Sorrentine potato gnocchi, Amalfi style scialatielli with seafood.
- Second courses which unite the land and the sea: oven baked fish with eggplant

Trekking
Walking in Paradise, following the footpaths which make their way over the mountains of the Amalfi Coast. Routes along which nature reigns supreme and which, before the state road was constructed, provided the only link between the towns dotted along the Amalfi Coast. Hotel Conca Azzurra will supply you with route maps and, if you wish, the assistance of an expert guide.
- Sentiero degli Dei: on the mountains between Positano and Praiano, a footpath of incomparable beauty.
- Vallone delle Ferriere: behind Amalfi, a scenic path which winds its way through the woods, past streams and ancient medieval paper mills.

Excursions by sea
Discover infinite shades of blue as you sail along the Amalfi Coast. Hotel Conca Azzurra organizes boat trips to the areas secret coves and all the most beautiful islands in the bays of Naples and Salerno.
- Islets of Galli: tiny islands where, legend has it, Ulysses was seduced by sirens.
- Capri: the beautiful island which, for thousands of years, has been the playground of the rich and famous.
- Tour of the coast: a chance to admire the precipitous cliffs and picturesque fishing villages of the Amalfi Coast from the sea.

Exploring the area
Hotel Conca Azzurra is located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast and provides the ideal base from which to explore the areas many tourist attractions. By car, taxi or public transport you can easily reach such legendary towns as Positano and Amalfi.

Amalfi: a town which stretches its arms out towards the sea, sheltered by the Lattari Mountains and by ancient defense walls which, at the time of the Saracen pirates, protected the town from attack.
Distance from the hotel: 5 minutes by car (6 kilometers) - Positano: the vertical town, where you'll find steep flights of steps in the place of roads; a nativity scene of colorful cottages which, from Monte Pertuso (the mountain with a hole in its middle), descends towards the sea and one of the most beautiful beaches on the whole of the Amalfi Coast.

Sorrento and Herculaneum:
A morning exploring the historic seaside town of Sorrento, with a visit to the intarsio museum, the cloisters of San Francesco, and the picturesque historic center; followed by an afternoon touring Herculaneum and the ancient Roman villas buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. -
Pompeii and Vesuvius:
A day trip you'll never forget. The morning is spent visiting Pompeii, buried under meters of burning ash during the eruption of Vesuvius and which now provides a unique example of how an Ancient Roman city would have been. After lunch, holidaymakers head to Vesuvius and the mouth of the volcano, in the company of a mountain guide. -
Paestum:
A trip to Cilento and the archeological site of Paestum to see the Doric temples and the painted tombs, including the famous Tomb of the Diver (the only example of Greek painting in Italy). Time permitting, on the return journey, a stop is made at a ceramic art factory in Vietri sul Mare.
Events on the Amalfi Coast

Carnival:
For 40 years the Carnival of Maiori has been one of the most famous of all those on the Amalfi Coast. Traditionally, Carnival is celebrated on Shrove Tuesday and the following Sunday and the procession of floats, the preparation of which starts months before, attracts tourists from throughout the region and beyond. -
Regata:
An event celebrating the history of Italys Maritime Republics. The annual Regata is held, by rotation, in one of the four republics: Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice. The boat race is performed using galleons reconstructed according to 12th century models, powered by eight rowers captained by a helmsman. -
Gusta Minori:
The Gusta Minori festival is held on the second week end of September each year and combines tastings of typical gastronomic products and theatrical, cultural and musical events involving the whole town.
