Ravello Festival is preparing to offer the public the best of the world scene: great international orchestras, historical names and authors of jazz research, ballet flagship companies, contemporary choreographers.
This year in Ravello, in this beautiful place on the Amalfi Coast, there will be the opening of the Festival dedicated to Richard Wagner with two special events: concert on June 30th, directed by Esa-Pekka Salonen with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the one on August 25th 2018 with Donald Runnicles and the Deutsche Oper Berlin complexes.

Amalfi celebrated on 27 June every year the feast of St. Andrew, patron saint and protector of fishermen and fishmongers.
In remember of the miraculous storm of 1544, triggered by the saint, according to legend, that prevented him from conquer the city to the Saracen pirate Kair-Ad-Din.
The festival begins with a procession of members of various religious congregations that lead to the beach the statue of the saint, affectionately called “o’ viecchio “(the old).
Here the fishermen take over and lead the ride to the Duomo rising impetuously the grand staircase.
In the evening, the festival ends with spectacular fireworks on the sea of the Amalfi Coast.
